2022 was the first full year I put more energy into creating, sketching, drawing and painting. It was the year I launched my website and started sharing not just my creations, but my thoughts as well in the form of blog posts.
While thinking about this winter and the festive season, I decided to paint something each day until Christmas. I’ll share what this magical time of the year means to me.
Autumn has always been one of my favourite seasons, with its magical weather, colours and smells. It was the first time I observed the season through my artistic lens.
One of the things that fascinate me in this painting journey is the colours. Working with them can be stressful and overwhelming, but they can be a joy if used correctly. There is no shortcut to finding the colour palettes and combinations that work. Exploring them requires a lot of time and patience. I gave myself time to experiment and play with my palette’s colours.
This was an excellent course to remind me that I can find interesting subjects to sketch in the house as well. In most cases, we just pass by the objects which live with us in our homes, and we don’t really see them, only use them. The challenge of this class was to observe and draw a scene from our surroundings.
I donated my art for a good cause by participating in this year’s Twitter Art Exhibit. This was the very first time I did something like this, and I’m wanted to share with you my experiences on this event.
I like to take photos, although I’m not a professional photographer. After taking a course about the essentials of urban scene drawing, I thought it might be a fun project to choose some “bad” photos from my gallery and turn them into urban sketches.
I chose this class mainly because I was curious about how the teacher incorporates figures in his drawings. Taking this class, I realised that it’s not that scary, and including some human figures in a sketch tells a story and adds more energy and life to the drawing.
This is a comprehensive course about watercolour, it took me 2 months to finish it. It’s a well-packed class recommended for enthusiastic beginners or experienced artists who wish to step outside their comfort zone. It’s built up gradually, which helped me understand and learn many things about watercolour, drawing, and painting.
When Robert published this course, it was no question that I would join this challenge. I just finished one of his other classes, and I wanted to start another one. Although this class aimed to be a daily challenge, I did it differently.
